We all know that fried dough is simply a delight. The best part about it is that it comes in all shapes and guises, be it round or oblong, raised or flat, cooked in oil or simmered in butter, filled with just about anything. 

Across the borders of countries, continents, donuts are very popular. You may think that a donut is simply a circular piece of fried dough, with a hole in the middle, with quoted sugar. Interestingly the first known doughnut machine came along in 1920 in New York City. Adolph Levitt, who was an enterprising refugee from Russia, began selling fried donuts from his bakery. In order to make the biggest doughnut, Julia took the following ingredients — eight pounds of flour, ten ounces of sugar, four ounces of dry powder milk, one pound and 6 ounces of combining powder and some salt. Later, she tops the doughnut with a cream followed by topping it with capsule-like candy that is coloured in pink and purple.
