8 Biggest Bulls In The World (2021)

Bulls are termed as one of the biggest and strongest animals in the world. They are uncastrated adult male cattle that are used for breeding and rodeo riding.

There are many breeds of cattle which are bred specifically for meat while others are bred specifically to produce milk. According to Professional Bull Riders, bulls typically weigh between 1700 and 1800 pounds, but there are some who weigh a lot more.

Some of the big bulls in the world have large, muscular shoulders, necks and hindquarters. A hump is usually noticeable on their shoulders. When bulls are full-grown, they can weigh as much as 2,000 pounds. In fact, according to the OSU Extension, young bulls can reach half of their mature weights in as little as 14 or 15 months.

8. Moses

In 2017, Joseph Egloff, a resident of the United States, bought a five-year-old Brahman bull. He named this bull Moses. This breed of bulls is very popular in hotter areas because they are very heat tolerant. The large floppy ears of these bulls act as radiators to keep them cool.

As Moses grew bigger and huge by the day, he caught the attention of a lot of passers-by. His owner, Joseph, says that this 2,425 pounds bull is a sweetheart to be around. Since Joseph’s father and grandfather had raised bulls their entire life in south Louisiana, Joseph developed a unique fondness towards bulls and would play with them as a child.

The Brahman cattle breed originated in India and is named after Brahmins, ie, the Hindu priests, who themselves are named after the Hindu God Brahma. Hindu priests consider cows holy and bulls sacred.

7. Sultan

Standing tall at 5 feet 11 inches and weighing a massive 3,000 pounds, Sultan belongs to the Murrah cattle family and weighs double than other cattle. His owner, Naresh Kumar from Haryana, claims that he is India’s biggest, tallest and the most expensive bull. Naresh takes care of Sultan just like his own child.

The daily diet of Sultan consists of 10 litres of milk, 15 kg apples, 20 kg carrots, 10 kg grains and 10-12 kg of green leaves. His daily expenses come up to around $40!

He refused to receive the huge amount, ie, $2.7 million that was offered to him by a cattle farmer from South Africa. His owner says that Sultan has helped him earn far much money over all these years and he has a very deep emotional attachment with him.

Lakhvir Singh, who is the caretaker of Sultan, says that he is the best bull in the world. People come to visit sultan from all over the world and Sultan drinks liquor everyday in the evening.

However, in September 2021, Sultan died due to heart attack in Haryana India, and his owner Naresh believes that there will be no other bull like Sultan ever!

6. Knickers

Knickers is actually a steer that weighs 3000 pounds and stands tall at 6 feet 4 inches. This nine-years-old steer is believed to be the biggest steer in a country home to millions of cattle. A steer is a bull that has been castrated.

Knickers became famous when one of his pictures standing amid a heard of Wygu cows went viral. This mighty bull had people confused and perplexed as they thought that he was the result of photo editing and did not look real to them! But when the videos of this bull went viral on social media, people had no option but to believe that Knickers was a real giant bull.

Geoff Pearson, who owns about 20,000 cattle, bought Knickers for $400 when he was only 12-month-old, and while he always expected him to grow into a large steer, he never expected him to get this big. Pearson was going to slaughter Knickers as he was raised for beef, but let Knickers live because of his size.

5. Field Marshall

Weighing 3,200 pounds and standing tall at 6 feet 5 inches, Field Marshall was declared one of the biggest bull in Great Britain. The 10-year-old animal’s owner says that Marshall is still getting bigger! He has now become a tourist attraction at Dulhorn Farm and Caravan Park, Somerset.

His owner, Gary Bowden, says that Marshall is a huge beast, about twice the size of a normal fully-grown cow of his breed. “If Field Marshall was a human, he would be eight-foot-tall and have 30 stone of muscle,” Gary said.

Gary’s three-year-old daughter, Sophie, has developed a special bond with Field Marshall and even feeds the giant animal with cattle cake and bales of hay. Most bulls at this age are ready to be slaughtered but Gary did not want this future for Field Marshall and so he has been put up at caravan park, where he is enjoying his final days.

4. Yuvraj

The super bull of Haryana, Yuvraj, is owned by Karamveer Singh of Sunariyo village in Kurukshetra. Named after the Indian cricket star, the 5 feet 7 inches tall and 3,306 pounds Yuvraj is the prized possession of his owner. Yuvraj has been described as the champion breeding bull by Inderjeet Singh, who is the chief of India’s Central Institue for Research.

The super bull has won 17 awards at various national competitions. Besides, he is a proud father of as many as 2 lakh calves through sperm donation. Yuvraj is a 9-year-old murrah breed and to stay healthy and fit, he drinks as much as 20 litres of milk on a daily basis! It is astonishing to know that Yuvraj is the father of 200,000 calves!

Its seed fetches its owner Rs 150,000 for one shot of that baby making material. During a cattle fair in Karnal, Haryana, a famer offered Rs 9 crore to buy Yuvraj but his owner refused to part with the bull.

However, despite this fearsome appearance, his owner insists that the 10-year-old bull is a gentle soul. ferny has so far fathered 50 calves on Charlie’s farm and sired a further 100 through artificial insemination.

The Simmental is a Swiss breed and is named after Simmental- a valley of the Simme river. It is reddish in colour with white markings and is raised both for milk and meat. This breed has a massive population of 41 million in five continents.

Fetard is the biggest bull in the world. He weighs a massive 4,299 pounds and has a height of 5 feet 11 inches. Fetard belongs to the Rouge des Pres breed of cattle. When he was 5.5 years old, Fetard debuted at the Paris International Agriculture Show 2016.

Earlier known as the Maine-Anjou breed, this cattle originated in the northwestern part of France. This area is excellent for beef production as it has both grassland and tillable land. Today, this cattle can be found in many countries including America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK and France.
