One of the coolest tree houses, the Enchanted Forest is a fairytale in real life. While this enchanted forest is not home to real fairies, it does hold the title of being the tallest tree house in all of British Columbia!
Built around a 800-year-old cedar tree, the idea of building this magical place first came into the mind of Doris Needham way back in 1950. She and her husband were artists who used to carve fairy-tale figures with cement.
After two years, the couple finally found a place to display their figures and over the next decade, they worked upon the Enchanted Forest. Today, the couple no longer owns the park but you can very much witness the magic they weaved into the branches of this tree. There’s also a stump house, giant mushrooms, and a castle, complete with a dungeon and dragons!

10. Victorian Tree House

This Victorian style treehouse was built by the well-known aviator and industrialist, James Talmage ‘Tokey’ Walker in the mid-1980s. This one of a kind tree house was once part of a large complex.
The treehouse has vaulted ceilings, beautiful decorated wallpapers, and a fully functional kitchen with a refrigerator. There is a dual stairway to the entrance of this tree house.
The trees growing inside this tree house give it a very mystical look.
It is believed that Walker built this treehouse for his grandchildren. However, after his death, the tree house was left abandoned.
Subsequently, this tree house was demolished in 2015 after years of neglect and vandalism, it still attracts interest to this day. Many artists and admirers have preserved its beauty and majestic style in multiple photographs available to the public online.
This tree house has often been dubbed as Honky Ranch as it is believed that many suspicious activities have been taking place within it.

Since this tree house had been left abandoned, a few people started growing a certain illegal plant on the premises (marijuana perhaps). they were later busted for doing so.
9. 727 Fuselage Home

The 727 Fuselage Home has been built out of a 727 Boeing airplane that was rescued way back in 1965. The Costa Verde hotel team cut this airplane into pieces and transported it in a truck from San Jose airport and placed this plane on the beautiful Costa Rica coastline.
The plane, that hangs 50 feet high in the air, offers amazing 360 degrees panoramic views of the jungle and ocean nearby. Although the plane looks like it has made a crash landing, it has all the luxury one could ever want.
The 727 Fuselage Home has a two-bedroom master suite and all the teak furniture has been brought from Java, Indonesia. Besides, as part of the resort, there are two pools and resturaunts serving traditional wine.
The Boeing’s cockpit, which has been converted into the bedroom, has a capacity to fit two people. Fully equipped kitchen, flat screen TV, a total of 3 queen beds and 2 large balconies of polished teak and handcrafted furnishings make this flight a truly unforgettable vacation home.

8. Green Village Bamboo House

5. Michael Garnier Tree House

Michael Garnier is considered one of the world’s foremost authorities on tree house construction and a pioneer in the field, but he prefers to think of himself as an “in-tree-prenur.”
Garnier built this treehouse in Oregon in a grove of redwoods that is 25 feet off the ground and three stories high with a cupola, complete with birch bark wallpaper.
Garnier owns many tree house resorts in the world, but this time he decided to build one for his wife and himself. And so he built this one so huge that it is a whopping 1800 square feet in diameter and rises 25 feet off the ground.
Moreover, the tree house rests on seven massive tree trunks. This tree house has three floors and right in the centre, there goes a 300-year-old white oak tree, all the way from the ground to the roof.
The treehouse is equipped with all the amenities like a fully functional kitchen, bedroom with a king size bed and a spiral stairway that leads to the bedroom.
Garnier has converted the basement, the area where the trunks support this massive treehouse, into a garage, where he keeps his bicycles and other important stuff.

Although this tree house has not been officially claimed so, Garnier claims it to be the largest tree house in the world. He says since no one came upto him saying otherwise, he likes to think of his tree house as such.
4. The Big Tree House

Constructed by Mick Jurgensen and his family, Mick says that the Big tree House was his hobby. Located near Marshalltown in Iowa, the construction of this tree house began in the year 1983. It is a 12-level, 55 feet plus treehouse with over 5,000 square feet of floor space.
From the Treehouse, there are lofty views of meadow, woodlands, and stream. The treehouse is complete with music, electricity, telephone, microwave oven, refrigerator, running water, grill, and 13 porch swings.
Several years ago, hot air balloons landed on the premises of this treehouse. In fact, visitors from over 57 countries have come to discover the tree house magic.
Mick says that his grandmother was the voice of the Big Treehouse. Had it not been her, the treehouse would have been left unseen by thousands of visitors. He also refers to this treehouse as the ‘Golden Gate.’

2. Alnwick Tree House

With a setting that takes you back into the Harry Potter movies, the Alnwick tree house is sprawled across 6,000 square feet. This gigantic treehouse has trees literally spewing out of the floor of this tree house! Built out of sustainably sourced Canadian cedar, Scandinavian redwood and pines, this beautiful tree house looks like it has been there forever.
In the premises of this tree house, there are long walkways and also bridges that will make your head swirl. To get a taste of adrenaline rush, you can even jump and bounce on this bridge to your heart’s content.
In the heart of the tree house is one of the most unique restaurants that offers you the most exquisite food. Due to the huge size of the building, support from trees did not seem a practical option and so, the designers held up the tree house with a huge network of wooden braces, concrete foundations and two concrete towers, hidden within the design.

Alnwick Tree-house is the biggest tree house in the world at present, with a total of 6000 square feet area, it became the largest treehouse in the world after the Minister’s tree house was burned.
1. Minister’s Tree House

- Location: Crossville, Tennessee, USA
- Height: 100 foot
- Area: 10,000 square feet
The Minister’s tree house is located outside Crossville, Tennessee and was once considered one of the largest tree houses in the world. This 100-feet-tall structure was built by Horace Burgess in the early 1990s.
The giant tree house was built without any blueprints and was supported by a 85-feet tall colossal oak tree. Minister’s tree house stretched upto five storeys and had 80 rooms.
The project took Burgess 12 years to complete. However, this extremely popular tourist attraction was closed on August 30, 2012 due to fire code violations and on October 22, 2019, this treehouse completely burned to the ground under unknown and mysterious circumstances.

Horace Burgess started building this treehouse in the year 1993, and it took around 2,58,000 nails and 12000 USD to build this gigantic tree house in a total of 12 years!
